Uzayla ilgisi çocukluk yaşlarla başladı. Tübitak bilim kitapları, ve Uzay teknolojilerine merakı ile 2000 yılında Ankara üniversitesi Astronomi ve uzay bilimleri bölümününe girdi. Burada okurken Astronomi Araştırma Topluluğunun birçok organizasyonunda etkin görevler aldı. Seminerler, Bilimsel geziler, Yuri’s Night 2003 gibi organizyonların çalışmalarını yürüttü. Bilim ve Teknik, Uçantürk, ve birçok bilimsel organizyonda Astronomi tarihi, popüler astronomi ve uzay alanında birçok yazıyı kaleme aldı. Lisans Öğrenimini sürdürürken 2005 yılında INTA Uzay Sistemlerinde stajer olarak çalışma hayatına başladı. Burada staj sonrası GIS ve Fotogrammetrik uygulamalar elemanı ve ardında Ankara Üniversitesi Astronomi ve Uzay bilimleri bölümü mezuniyeti ile INTA Uzay sistemlerinde Satış ve İş geliştirme Koordinatörlüğüne kadar yükseldi. Uzaktan algılama üzerine Türkiye’de birçok kuruma önemli projeler geliştiren Engin Ağustos 2007 den beri International Space University ‘de (ISU) Master of Space Management bölümünde yüksek öğrenimini sürdürmektedir. Engin aynı zamanda 1 yıla yakın süredir Space Generation National Point of Contact of Turkey görevini yürütmektedir.

His interest in space started during his child ages. Therefore, he was very keen on reading TUBITAK Science books which widely covered space science and technologies. Following his interest in space, Mehmet entered the Department of Astronomy and Space Science of the Ankara University in 2000 to complete his undergraduate degree. During his education here, he took very active roles at the Astronomy Research Society. He organized many social activities such as seminars, scientific activities, and Yuri’s night in 2003. He also wrote many articles on popular astronomy and Space Era in BilimveTeknik, Uçantürk, and different scientific magazines. During his undergraduate study, he worked as an intern at the INTA Space Systems Inc, a company located in Ankara and specialized on remote sensing. After his internship, he started to work as GIS and Photogrammetric applications staff in the same company. After his graduation from Ankara University, he was appointed as the Sales and Business Development Coordinator by INTA Space Systems. During his work at INTA, Fatih initiated many important projects on remote sensing and GIS at various government entities in Turkey. However, despite his successful carrier at INTA, he decided to pursue further his education on space. Now, he enrolled to the ISU for the MSc program in 2007 on Business and Management. He is expecting to graduate in 2998. Fatih served as the National Point of Contact of Turkey at the Space Generation Advisory Council for about one year.
